First win for Indians and Scorpions

Sta Rosa Indians and Royal Scorpions have won the first match in their semi-finals of the 2023 Curaçao baseball championship. The Indians narrowly won 2-1 against Sta Maria Pirates. The Scorpions defeated Wild Cats 18-4.

The Sta Rosa Indians team finished the pre-season in first place with 14 wins and 6 losses. Wild Cats took second place with 13 wins and 7 losses. Royal Scorpions won 11 matches and lost 9 to finish third. Sta Maria Pirates finished fourth with 10 wins and also 10 losses.

In the first game of the semifinals on Wednesday, the Indians and Pirates presented the crowd with an exciting game. Sta Rosa scored 1 run in the second and third inning, while Sta Maria only crossed the home plate in the sixth inning.

Pitcher Jordan Lucas won the match for Sta Rosa Indians. In 6 innings he allowed 1 run on 7 hits. He was relieved in the seventh inning by Hershelon Juliana who secured the win the remaining 3 innings.

Rochendrick Alexander had a perfect night at bat. He had 3 hits in 3 at bats, including a home run. With that, he brought in 2 runs for Sta Rosa Indians.
